Explore Initiatives in Research and Teaching
Our Faculty Exchange and Learning Visits bring educators together across institutions to learn from one another, share ideas, and build lasting partnerships. Through in-person visits, faculty teach, observe, and collaborate on research that strengthens both scholarship and practice.
The Research Fellowship Program supports early-stage researchers to produce high-quality, relevant scholarship that contributes to transforming higher education in Sub-Saharan Africa. Fellows explore pressing questions around teaching, learning, leadership, and student outcomes – generating insights that help shape more effective and ethical institutions.
A practical manual outlining evidence-based approaches institutions can use to improve learning outcomes in large classes between 300 and 500 students. It offers pedagogical practices that support engagement, active learning, and meaningful assessment at scale.
The Learning Hub is a collection of reports, guidebooks, research insights, and benchmarks of excellence, that capture lessons learned, and highlight what works in advancing higher education in Africa.
Our Research Community of Practice connects scholars, faculty, and staff across institutions to share ideas, refine questions, and strengthen methodologies. Members learn from one another’s experiences, collaborate on emerging priorities, and contribute to a growing body of knowledge that advances higher education on the continent.
The Innovation and Proof of Concept Grant provides small grants to eligible institutions within the network to explore, develop, test, or refine innovative solutions in higher education. These grants help move promising ideas from concept to implementation.
