Strengthening ethical leadership in students
Through participation in network programs, member institutions build systems and cultures that support ethical action, empathy, teamwork, and responsible leadership. This work helps institutions intentionally prepare students to lead with integrity and influence in their professions, communities, and societies.
Through our Leadership and Ethics engagements, we have:
Â
Initiatives in Leadership and Ethics
An online ethics and values-based leadership professional development course for independent learners and professional and organizational leaders to gain training in speaking up for one’s values when confronted with dilemmas that go against one’s values. Over 500 people have enrolled in the course from 20 institutions across the continent.Â
This initiative, jointly facilitated by Pan-Atlantic University and The Education Collaborative, aims to raise a network of student leaders equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitude to champion ethical leadership cultures within their institutions and beyond.Â
Â
A handbook with a step-by-step guide to establishing honor codes on campuses. It leverages the effective and exemplary model from Ashesi University and its mentoring experience with the Kibi Presbyterian College of Education.Â
A collection of online courses for employers and students to gain training in speaking up for one’s values when confronted with dilemmas that go against one’s values.Â
The Ethics and Leadership Community of Practice partners with institutions to cultivate ethical cultures that shape decision-making at every level. Through collaborative projects and shared learning, we help nurture a new generation of principled leaders committed to transforming Africa.
The Innovation and Proof of Concept Grant supports institutions advancing ethical cultures and principled leadership in higher education. Through seed funding, we help move bold ideas from research to practice that strengthen integrity, accountability, and leadership across Africa.
Mentors support institutions by sharing expertise, strengthening programs, and contributing to sustainable improvement. The pool ensures that institutions can draw on trusted guidance as they design and refine initiatives that advance student success.
Our Innovation and Proof of Concept Grants support institutions in piloting practical solutions that strengthen student outcomes and institutional systems. Institutions may receive up to $20,000 to advance projects in career readiness and relevant training and other The Education Collaborative focus areas.
The Education Collaborative is dedicated to improving education outcomes for students across Africa. Institutions in our network engage to advance their own strategic priorities for systems improvement – learning from one another while contributing expertise to address shared challenges across the sector.
