Higher Education Employability Systems Assessment (HEESA)

The Higher Education Employability Systems Assessment (HEESA) is a structured, evidence-based diagnostic developed by The Education Collaborative to assess how effectively higher education institutions prepare students for the world of work.

Rather than focusing solely on graduate employment outcomes, HEESA evaluates the systems that produce them, including institutional resources, career services, and learning mechanisms. The 2025 HEESA assessment analyzed 32 institutions across East and West Africa, providing a first-of-its-kind continental view of employability system maturity.
